Australian citizens are not required to have a Thai visa, because it is a very friendly neighbour to Thai. Aussies are allowed to stay in Thailand for a maximum of 30 days due to the "Visa Exemption Rule". You can get the visa upon entering in Thailand from international airport. If entering form a land border checkpoint, people are only allowed to stay for 15 days from a country that is really close. You must also be carrying a travel itinerary and sufficiant funds. If planning to stay for than 30 days, Australian citizens can apply for a Thailand visa depending on the reason of visiting.
Tourist Visa- You can apply for this visa for tourism purposes and is valid for 3 to 6 months and permission to stay for 60 days. You can extend the visa for another 30 days at the Thai immigration office.
Non-Migrant Visa to Thailand- This visa is applied to people whose purpose is to Study (ED), conduct bussiness (B), visit family (O) or official duties (F) and religious (R) purposes. Let's applicants stay up to 90 days max and allows them to get jobs and open bank accounts.
One Year Non-Migrant Visa- This Visa lets applicants stay up for a maximum of 1 year, lets them apply for jobs, open bank accounts and extend the days.
Thailand Bussiness Visa- Applicants whose purpose is anything to with bussiness or any kind of work can apply for this visa. It is valid for 1 year and the visa holder can stay for 90 days.
Thailand Marriage Visa- Applicants who are wishing to marry their Thai spouse can apply for this visa. The holder can stay up to 1 year and can renew the visa again every single year. They can obtain a job.
